Lynde Point

Fenwick, CT
In 2002, the CT CWRP committed to assist with the Lynde Point salt marsh restoration project in Fenwick. The DEP was working with other agencies and the local community to bring 10 acres of coastal land to its original status as tidal marsh. The revived habitat will soon offer food and shelter for an entire suite of animals, including birds as they make their arduous migrations. Wetland functions will improve, including water purification, contaminant reduction, and flood control.

CT CWRP contribution: $ 17,930; Total project costs: $300,000
