Branford Supply Dam

$20,000 grant to the Branford Supply Pond Dam Fishway Project, which will construct a fishway at the dam, allowing river herring and sea run brown trout access to 85 acres of lake/pond habitat, 9 acres of riparian habitat and 5 miles of free flowing river and stream habitat within the Queach Brook watershed, including access to the Supply Ponds, Lydidites Pond, Cedar Pond, and Linsley Lake. 

This project was completed by the Spring of 2006 and an opening ceremony was held in May 2006.

The dedication ceremony for the Branford Supply Dam fish ladder was on May 13, 2006  - what a great event!  It was attended by the new CT DEPDeputy Commissioner, Amey Marrella and Tim Keeney from NOAA and other dignitaries.  There is a great sign with the CT CWRP logo and there were many local community members at the event admiring the sign and the fish ladder.

The Branford Supply Dam Fishway Project was a recipient of a Coastal American Partners Award in 2007.
